There’s something about Clerkenwell Design Week that always feels energising — the streets buzzing with creativity, showroom doors flung open and the unmistakable sense that design ideas are waiting around every corner. This year, with glorious sunshine making a welcome appearance, the atmosphere felt especially vibrant.

As always, Clerkenwell proved itself to be more than simply a showcase of products. It offered an immersive experience where craftsmanship, innovation and conversation meet.
Among the standout discoveries for us was Fritz Fryer Lighting, where exciting new lighting collections caught our attention and reinforced the continuing shift towards statement illumination and character-led interiors.

Flooring specialist Parador also impressed, unveiling its new Larch Range — a fresh take on natural plank flooring that immediately stood out as a versatile option for contemporary workspaces.
Meanwhile, a smaller but equally memorable presence came from Vimar. Their display of light switch furniture proved that even the smallest design details deserve thoughtful consideration.

Their collections of light switch furniture are something we are definitely considering for a current project, with the Eikon Exéand Linea ranges particularly standing out.
It’s often these finishing touches that elevate a scheme, and Clerkenwell continues to demonstrate how functional design elements are increasingly becoming statement pieces in their own right.
Furniture inspiration was equally plentiful. Although the search for the perfect executive desk continues, we did discover a boardroom setting that made a lasting impression with a fabulous boardroom table and chairs by Wilkhahn.

And, of course, no Clerkenwell visit would be complete without acknowledging the hospitality. There was an abundance of nibbles and drinks at many of the exhibitors’ showrooms and stands, which certainly made it even more pleasurable to walk around and take in the products.
